Seasonal Sheet Music - Good Friday Arrangements

Composed by the English organist Frederick Maker in the late 1800's, the hymn tune "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" first appeared in the 1881 edition of the "Bristol Tune Book". Text was provided by Elizabeth Clephane several years later.
This is an interesting yet accessible arrangement, suitable for church services or other solemn occasions.

This hymn, written in 1875 by Fannie Crosby is based on the scripture in Hebrews 10:22. It is a prayer of supplication: "Let us draw near with a true heart..." to the cross of Christ.

This subdued hymn arrangement would be ideal for any church service, but especially meaningful during communion or any service where one contemplates all the Christ has done for us.

Generally considered to be the most popular of all twentieth century hymns, this was written by George Bennard in 1913. First ordained in the Salvation Army, and later in the Methodist Episcopal Church, George was convinced that the cross was more than just a religious symbol, but rather was the very heart of the gospel.

Written here for 6 Bb Trumpets, it could also be done by 6 Bb Clarinets.
